Welcome to *30/06* and the *COURAGE TO CONQUER* is in *1Sam.30/06*-
_”And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.”_
David and his army had their homes invaded with all their families’ and properties carted away- _”So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.”_ vs 3
This brought inconsolable distress and despair to all the troop of David- _”Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.”_ vs 4
In this midst of this chaos, David encouraged himself in the Lord by-:
1. *REACHING OUT TO GOD*- _”And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. And David enquired at the Lord , saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them?”_ vs 7,8a
2. *RECEIVING DIRECTION FROM GOD*- _”And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them , and without fail recover all.”_ vs 8b
In the midst of distress and despair, your greatest need is courage from God.
To get the needed courage to conquer, you must like David be addicted to-:
A. *REACHING OUT* to God in the place of Prayers- _”Call unto me, and I will answer thee”_ Jer.33:3a
B. *RECEIVING DIRECTION* from God through Revelation- _”and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”_ Jer.33:3b
By reaching out to God and receiving direction from God, David became encouraged to-:
I. *RALLY AGAINST THE ENEMY*- _”And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.”_ vs 17
II. *RECOVER ALL THAT WAS LOST*- _”And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.”_ vs 18,19
*The more you reach out to God, the more direction you receive from God.*
*The more direction from God you have, the more courage at your disposal to rally against your problems and recover all you have ever lost.*
*Prayer*
_O Lord fortify me with courage to always reach out to you and receive direction from you to rally against all my problems so as to recover all for your glory in Jesus name._
*NEVER BE DISCOURAGED WHEN YOU CAN ENCOURAGE YOURSELF IN GOD!*
