Because of his great grandfather David, King Abijam was given a lamp in Jerusalem so that the royal dynasty of David will be perpetual and Jerusalem will be established.
David became the saving grace of the kings of Judah over and over again.
While he was alive, David was a channel of divine benefits to his people and nation.
Long after he died, David had unforgettable legacy before God that produced divine breakthroughs to lineage and subsequent generations.
David became conduit of divine mercy to his lineage, nation and subsequent generations because of his uprightness before his God- _”Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord , and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.”_ vs 5
